Wright County was named for Silas Wright, former governor of New York, and Joseph Albert Wright, former governor of Indiana.
Its seat is Clarion, while the largest city is Eagle Grove.
It borders Hancock, Franklin, Hamilton, Webster and Humboldt Counties.
